About the event
In this comprehensive beginner's course you will learn the basic skills of crochet and gain confidence to create your own fabulous pieces. Â Over 4 weeks you will learn how to hold and manipulate the hook, create the basic stitches which are the foundation of all projects, make squares, work in the round and read patterns.
Session 1: Â May 14th
Get to know your hook! Â
The hardest part of crochet is becoming comfortable with holding and working the hook.  In this 1st session you will find your way of holding the hook, tensioning the yarn and creating chains,  slip stitches  double crochet and half treble stitches.

Session 2: May 21st
 Learn the stitches
In this session you will learn the treble crochet stitch.
Take home: a shower scrunchie
Session 3: May 28th
Working in the round
Today we will be focussing on the basics of working in the round, increasing to create a flat circle.
Take home: a makeup remover
Session 4: Â June 4th
Following a pattern
Today we will be creating a piece by reading a pattern. Â Learning how patterns are written and what different abbreviations and symbols mean. Â Today's skills build on last week's working in the round.
Take home: a soap saver/basket (personal choice)
