About the event
In this comprehensive beginner's course you will learn the basic skills of crochet and gain confidence to create your own fabulous pieces. Over 4 weeks you will learn how to hold and manipulate the hook, create the basic stitches which are the foundation of all projects, make squares, work in the round and read patterns.
The course will be held over 4 sessions, each of which can be booked individually; this is SESSION 1 which is ideal for complete beginners or those who would like more practise in creating stitches.
Session 1:
Get to know your hook!
The hardest part of crochet is becoming comfortable with holding and working the hook. In this 1st session you will find your way of holding the hook, tensioning the yarn and creating chains, slip stitches, double crochet and half treble crochet stitches.
