About the event
Rags2Reusables is a community focused upcyclying project jointly co-ordinated by local duo Penny Locke and Julia Moore. Â The project promotes textile reuse through practical, inclusive and affordable workshops.
In this workshop you will be working in collaboration to make draught excluders to help keep your home warm. Â There will be plenty of encouragement and tuition on offer so you can learn hand sewing and embellishment techniques to transform preloved textiles into something useful and beautiful to have in your home or offer as a gift.
Please come and make some new friends, or why not bring one along with you.
What to bring with you:
*Any favourite sewing kit you normally use - please don't buy any new items as we will be able to supply anything you don't have.
*Any fabric scraps you have at home that you would like to use.
*As many old socks as you can, be they odd, holey or just unloved! Â Why not ask friends, family or work colleagues if they have any spare too?
Please wash and dry them all first and bring along to donate to the project. Â The more socks the merrier! Â We'll be shredding and using these as our eco-stuffing for the draught excluders.
*A notebook and pen/pencil.
Your tutor will be Julia Moore - Fashion & Textile Creative and Upcycler.
