About the event
An opportunity to upskill your crocheting and learn a range of new stitches and create a bespoke blanket. Â Over the course of these sessions I will share my hints and and tips to create a blanket that is a consistent size with straight edges. Â There is no requirement to attend every session, just choose the stitches that appeal to you most.
The first lesson includes a starter kit of 6 balls of Cygnet Deluxe DK of your choice of colours (other yarns are available for an additional charge), a crochet hook and stitch markers and a printed or emailed stitch tutorial. Â Every subsequent session will also include a stitch tutorial.
Session 1 will begin with the Corner to Corner (C2C) stitch. Â A beautifully textured, fast growing stitch is suitable for any crocheter who is familiar with the treble crochet (UK terms) stitch. Â It requires a little concentration to begin but once learned, it can easily become a favourite. Â Â Once mastered, the corner to corner is a lovely stitch that lends itself perfectly to working whilst in a group, watching the telly, travelling or any other situation which doesn't require your full attention.
Depending on the yarn used and your tension, the corner to corner has a fairly dense appearance but the use of chains throughout creates a lightweight stitch with a gorgeous drape.
Price:  Session 1: £25, subsequent sessions £10.  Refreshments included at all sessions.
